IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT STARTING TO USE THE REPEATERS

The information below is about our most recent GMRS Repeaters that

were installed in the northern area of Spanish Springs, NV.

Northern Nevada GMRS Users Quality Communications in your communities
The Repeater is a Open Repeater that is on 24/7. This means, that the repeater is only available to licensed users that have been approved by myself or one of the moderators of the system. Upon being approved, you’ll be given full access to the repeater. Get your license here! Remember, NO test required and it’a for 10 years, covers you entire family. Using a mobile radio, it covers the Spanish Springs area, North on Pyramid Hwy to Ax Handle Canyon Road and south to Hwy 580 & Mount Rose Hwy. Using a hand radio you are limited to the Spanish Springs area because of it's power capacity of 5 watts and mobile radios are up to 50 watts. We have backup power in case of a power outage. You must register by going to the link below and it will send a request to me, so you can get approved to use the repeater. https://www.mygmrs.com/repeater/7532. What Is Zello and How Do You Use It? Zello app is available. This allows you to network and connect to other repeaters in the country using Zello, they are located all over the country. Currently we are able to network using Zello to several Northern California Bay area repeaters which has a range of over 50 miles in the bay area. We also are looking into putting emergency alerts on the repeater system. The FCC requires a license and it does NOT REQUIRE ANY TEST, $35 for 10 years and includes your entire immediate family. Access will be granted to all valid GMRS License holders. To request access please Send a request to www.mygmrs.com This is to keep track of our users and control over the repeaters use! General Rules No swearing or foul language. Children are listening and encouraged to participate if they act professionally and ID properly. Be respectful of other users. (NO harmful interference) NO "Roger Beep". Please disable all audible tones. DO NOT share the access Tones, everyone must register at www.mygmrs.com to use the repeater. (Refer friends to independently request access through www.mygmrs.com DO NOT randomly "kerchunk" the repeater. That's keying up the repeater without talking! (Identify and ask for a radio check) This repeater is not for business use. (Personal and hobby use only) The repeater trustees are responsible for the operation of the system and monitor what is said. No music or audio clips can be played during transmissions. Each GMRS station must be identified by transmission of its FCC-assigned call sign at the end of transmissions and at periodic intervals during transmissions except as provided in paragraph (c) of this section. A unit number may be included after the call sign in the identification. (a) The GMRS station call sign must be transmitted: (1) Following a single transmission or a series of transmissions; and, (2) After 15 minutes and at least once every 15 minutes thereafter during a series of transmissions lasting more than 15 minutes. (b) The call sign must be transmitted using voice in the English language or international Morse code telegraphy using an audible tone. (c) Any GMRS repeater station is not required to transmit station identification if: (1) It retransmits only communications from GMRS stations operating under the authority of the individual license under which it operates; and, (2) The GMRS stations whose communications are retransmitted are properly identified in accordance with this section.
